The time came to drive to South Florida. We left Tampa at 7pm and congratulated ourselves on how smart we were to drive at night when Asher would be tired. We forgot we would be tired too. And while we knew that it was a possibility, we hoped Asher would not stay awake for the 5 hour car ride. Asher did fall asleep during that car ride, but it was 5 minutes (I do not exaggerate) before we arrived at the hotel. We have traveled before with Asher, but this trip was our first since he potty trained. Maybe that is why I feel it noteworthy to write so much about his pressing need for elimination at inopportune times.
