Protests

Here are the things Adirah protested today in no particular order: Getting dressed, getting on shoes, sitting in a chair to eat, going around to the back door of the library as the front door was still locked, sitting in a stroller, sitting in a shopping cart, having her hair brushed, having her diaper changed, getting into the car, getting out of the car, and leaving the playground. Protests can be a simple "Hey! No mom!" Or the classic kicking of the legs, twisting and making it impossible to carry her. At the play ground she looked at two slides side by side. One slide was wet. "That slide wet" she said, "Yes," I said, now weary from all the hours of protesting "But this one is dry" I pointed to the other slide. "Why that slide wet?" she asked "I don't know" I said But I thought it was strange that one was wet and the other was dry. It had not rained recently.
