For a few months Adirah has been using the potty whenever we change a diaper. Suddenly, she began refusing to use the potty. She even started kicking and screaming when we got near the potty. Desperate to have her potty trained by the fall (for preschool) I decided to try another tactic. "Big Girls get to wear underwear," I told her. Her eyes grew big. "Do you want to wear underwear?" I asked "Yes!" She screamed. "Well," I said, " if you use the potty, you get to wear underwear." "That sounds good!" she said, so clearly, I had to laugh. She peed in the potty, I got her dressed and picked out some underwear. They were blue. "I want pink underwear please" she said also so clearly it shocked me. And so she wore her pink underwear OVER her tights.
