Trip to Florida Day 1

Day 1 Three events happen that seem unrelated: 1. We sleep through the breakfast offered by the hotel. 2. The first morning, our toilet in our bathroom gets clogged. 3. After the usual morning tantrum about taking that first pull-up diaper off, Asher decides to explore the hallways of the hotel. Read on to see how these unrelated events played out: We finally arrived in Tampa at midnight. We booked a hotel with the hope that we could have a place to go on the first night to rest, and get used to the time change. This was probably a good idea since it was about 3am before we got to sleep. At 10am I called my mom and said that we were all awake, but then when I realized the hotel no longer offered breakfast, I called back to ask her to pick up something for us to eat .My mother told me that she bought a potty just like the one Asher has at home and said she would bring it over for us to have at the hotel (see previous posting re: potty). She decided to get bagel...

Trip to Florida (Foreward)

My three year old is an activist. He believes in the power of boycotts and he has a long list of things he feels passionate about avoiding for his cause: 1. Putting on clothes. 2. Getting in the car 3. Getting out of the car. 4. Having his fingernails or toenails cut (even though I inform him that people actually pay money for this service). 5. Having any kind of lotion on any part of his body-especially his face. 6. Pooping anywhere besides his own sanctioned potty. 7. Sleeping anywhere besides his own bed with his own sheets and his three bunnies. Because of his strong beliefs, it makes it difficult to travel. Yet a few months ago, I decided to plan a trip to Florida to see my family. Going on the trip involved one 5 hour flight, an hour layover, another 2 hour flight and a 3 hour time change. What was I thinking?
